March 21 – April 09 "Synaesthesia"

The project is aimed at a visual study of the city and urban space. It represents an attempt to discover beauty and harmony in ordinary objects – walls of the buildings, pipes and sewers, forgotten things, fragments of stickers.

Two Ancient Greek words σύν meaning “together” and αἴσθησις meaning “sensation” form a phenomenon: excitation of one sensory or cognitive system leads to involuntary response of the other sensory system, such as hearing colour sounds or seeing colour letters. Due to this phenomenon contemplation of absolutely ordinary things turns into a visual discovery.

Andrey Repin is the member of the Union of Photographers of Russia, participant of more than 15 multi-authored exhibitions, prize winner of international and national photographic contests, holder of the scholarship of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
